Extra Virgin Olive Oil Sampler Pack | Monovarietals of Italy
About Italian Monovarietal Olive Oil
Searching for extra virgin olive oils that highlight the natural flavors of the olives without artificial infusions and flavors? This sampler pack, designed to showcase the biodiversity of a few of Italy's native olive species, is what you have been looking for.
Italy has more than 500 varieties of olives, each one taking on different characteristics from its climate and soil. When purchasing from large industrial producers, however, it is nearly impossible to find oils that aren't a mix of different olives from different countries and climates. As a result, industrial extra virgin olive oils often all taste the same.
We import this collection of monovarietal olive oils directly from the producers in Italy, giving foodies all over the United States an opportunity to taste these hidden gems. Each oil is made from only one type of olive, and the name of each olive is on the label of each bottle so you know exactly what you are tasting.
What is Included in the Italian Olive Oil Sampler Pack?
Each pack contains three, 100ml bottles of Italian monovarietal extra virgin olive oil. This size is perfect for hosting a small tasting event with friends, or in allowing you to pair each oil with many different meals and flavors. In each pack, you will receive one of each oil described in further detail below.
Moraiolo Extra Virgin Olive Oil
This olive comes from Umbria, a region of Italy that borders Tuscany and Lazio. It is known for its truffles and wines, and for its medieval hill towns. This oil reflects the balanced harmony of these olives, characterized by a symmetry of aroma and taste. This same balance is found in the extra virgin olive oil: a duality of bitterness and spiciness that gives the oil extraordinary liveliness and flavor depth. Moraiolo shines for its aromatic richness, and the persistence of its flavors and notes of green almond and olive leaves.
Intosso Extra Virgin Olive Oil
This olive comes from Abruzzo, a region east of Rome on the Adriatic coast facing Croatia. Its seaside towns are famous for pasta with clams and fish stews, while its interior towns are known for their grilled lamb dishes. The Intosso oil has an intense flavor that pairs perfectly with the taste of grilled meats and seafood. You will smell a green fruity aroma, with initial accents of freshly cut grass that open up to complex notes of artichoke, almond, and tomato leaf. This richness creates a palate where these notes intertwine with the spiciness of the oil, in a harmony of flavors that surprises and satisfies.
Roggianella Extra Virgin Olive Oil
The Roggianella olive comes from Calabria, a region in southern Italy known for its spicy flavors and and strong dependence on tomatoes and eggplants. This oil is mild and serves to balance the traditional spiciness of the its local cuisines and softer cheeses like mozzarella. The finish is enriched by notes of fresh almond and a subtle hint of wild berries, adding another layer of complexity to the overall flavor.

Frequently Asked Questions about Our Products
How do you bring your products to the United States?
How do you bring your products to the United States?
We import everything directly from our close partners in Italy, without the use of middlemen. We know the owners of every business we work with. The products come in bulk, by boat, to our facilities in North Carolina- which allows us to reduce shipping costs and keep prices lower than other Parmigiano Reggiano dealers.
Why are your Parmigiano Reggiano prices lower than in other stores?
Why are your Parmigiano Reggiano prices lower than in other stores?
A few reason! Our business is owned by an Italian from Reggio Emilia, who has been close family friends with a Parmigiano Reggiano dealer for decades. This means we do not have to buy from corporations or dealers in Italy- we go straight to the source.
Secondly, we import all of our wheels by boat, in refrigerated shipping containers, to keep the transport costs low. This allows us to spread the cost of shipping from Italy across more customers- saving both you and us money.
Finally, we cut out all of the brokers in the United States. We do all of the regulatory and logistics work ourselves, without needing to pay consultants. Then we pass those savings onto you!
How do I store your products?
How do I store your products?
All of our Parmigiano Reggiano products must be stored in the refrigerator. Authentic parmesan does not contain artificial preservatives and is not shelf stable. For the cuts (not grated), we recommend keeping them in glass tupperware or wrapped tightly in a quality plastic wrap.
Our olive oils should stay in areas of the home that are room temperature and do not get too hot.
Lambrusco can stay in the pantry, but should be chilled before drinking.
Can I buy wholesale?
Can I buy wholesale?
Yes! We serve wholesale customers across the United States. For more information, or to schedule an appointment to discuss in more detail, head to our 'Wholesale' page.
Is Parmigiano Reggiano different from Parmesan?
Is Parmigiano Reggiano different from Parmesan?
Parmigiano Reggiano is the only true parmesan. If a cheese is certified as Parmigiano Reggiano, it means the Italian authorities can guarantee that it was made in the authorized production zone in Italy and does not contain preservatives or artificial ingredients. If a cheese is not labeled as Parmigiano Reggiano, it legally must be called parmesan to ensure customers understand that it is not original.
If you see "Parmesan" on the menu or on the product- it most likely means you are buying a copy of the real thing.
What is a Monovarietal Olive Oil?
What is a Monovarietal Olive Oil?
Monovarietal olive oils only use one variety of olive. This leads to a higher quality oil and to more diversity in the taste of different oils. When only using one olive, the producer has more flexibility to really allow the native properties of that oil to shine.
Monovarietal olive oils tend to be more expensive than oils that have been cut with lower quality oils, because they typically come from specialized groves rather than industrial plantations.
How will the products be delivered?
